Principles of chameleon and other animals’ color-changing
Animal color change is a remarkable phenomenon that is passed on in genes from generation to generation. Generally, it is used to mask predators, communicate, or express mood. Different animals can change color in a few milliseconds to hours and everything is controlled by the hormonal or nervous system. The most significant cells for coloring are chromophores, melanophores, or leucophores. The most perfect color-changing animals are chameleons and cephalopods.
