Cultural monuments are one of the most important sources of knowledge of all generations and are considered to be unchangeable values of the past. It represents a unique value that goes beyond national borders and is important to the present and future generations of all mankind. Everyday globalization trends pose a great risk of losing the individuality of individual regions and nations. And that is why the world heritage should be a matter of course. In order to preserve the heritage, it is necessary to pass on the importance of the natural and social heritage to the young generation as a priority of the quality of life of present and future generations. The aim of the paper is to provide a comprehensive picture and wake the reader interest about this issue, and of course to encourage geography teachers to develop their pupils in this spirit. Although the education system allows work on the development of individuals who know, respect and preserve their natural and cultural heritage, but not to the extent that can be expected.
